چکیده
This doctoral thesis proposes a new algorithm for the reconstruction of impedance images in monitored objects. The algorithm eliminates the spatial resolution problems present in existing reconstruction methods, and, with respect to the monitored objects, it exploits both the partial knowledge of configuration and the material composition. The discussed novel method is designed to recognize certain significant fields of interest, such as material defects or blood clots and tumors in biological images. The actual reconstruction process comprises two phases; while the former stage is focused on industry-related images, with the aim to detect defects in conductive materials, the latter one concentrates on biomedical applications. The thesis also presents a description of the numerical model used to test the algorithm. The testing procedure was centred on the resulting impedivity value, influence of the regularization parameter, initial value of the numerical model impedivity, and effect exerted by noise on the voltage electrodes upon the overall reconstruction results. Another issue analyzed herein is the possibility of reconstructing impedance images from components of the magnetic flux density measured outside the investigated object. The given magnetic field is generated by a current passing through the object. The created algorithm for the reconstruction of impedance images is modeled on the proposed algorithm for EIT-based reconstruction of impedance images from voltage. The algoritm was tested for stability, influence of the regularization parameter, and initial conductivity. From the general perspective, the thesis describes the methodology for both magnetic field measurement via NMR and processing of the obtained data.

Estimating the Number of Wideband Radio Sources
In this paper, a new approach for estimating the number of wideband sources is proposed which is based on RSS or ISM algorithms. Numerical results show that the MDL-based and EIT-based proposed algorithm havea much better detection performance than that in EGM and AIC cases for small differences between the incident angles of sources. In addition, for similar conditions, RSS algorithm offers hi...
متن کاملA Primal Dual Interior Point Framework for EIT Reconstruction with Automatic Regularization
The spatial resolution of the reconstructed images in Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is low and a priori information regarding smooth conductivity changes limits reconstruction of sharp images while it is preferred in order to differentiate tissue boundaries in medical imaging. Measurement errors are another barrier that hinder a good image reconstruction. Generally `2 norms have been us...
متن کاملElectrical Impedance Tomography Image Reconstruction Using Iterative Lavrentiev and L-Curve-Based Regularization Algorithm
Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a technique for determining the electrical conductivity and permittivity distribution inside a medium from measurements made on its surface. The impedance distribution reconstruction in EIT is a nonlinear inverse problem that requires the use of a regularization method. The generalized Tikhonov regularization methods are often used in solving inverse pro...
متن کاملTemporal effects in EIT image reconstructions
Most EIT image reconstruction algorithms do not account for temporal effects such as non-instantaneous acquisition of data frames and temporal correlation between successive EIT images. We have recently published a framework for assessing the performance of reconstruction algorithms accounting for temporal effects. Results of applying this framework to five reconstruction algorithms and three t...
متن کاملTopology Optimization Applied to 2d and 3d Electrical Impedance Tomography
Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is an imaging technique which tries to find conductivity distribution inside a section of body. The EIT deals with an inverse problem in which given the measured voltages on electrodes it estimates the conductivity distribution by using an image reconstruction algorithm. EIT can be used in several applications and, recently, it has been applied for obtainin...
